Magic Kingdom, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Trip Report, Walt Disney World

Honeymoon, Anniversary, & Birthday, Oh My! – Day 3 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

2015-09-22 17.56.312015-09-22 18.23.21     Every fall, Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World plays host to one of the best events Disney has to offer, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP). This kid-friendly party is offered on certain nights in September and October as a separate ticket that is much more exclusive than regular admission to Magic Kingdom. The limited capacity of the party allows for much shorter ride lines, special MNSSHP food and merchandise, Halloween-themed fireworks and parades, and meet-and-greets with rare character like Jack and Sally or all 7 dwarfs, plus a variety of other unique experiences.  This year also included a Halloween SPELLtacular that featured the Sanderson Sisters from the movie Hocus Pocus that has opened to rave reviews! I was very excited because, despite visiting Disney World several times during the fall, this year was the first time we got to go to MNSSHP!
2015-09-22 19.30.52    MNSSHP doesn’t officially start until 7pm, but your party ticket gets you into Magic Kingdom starting at 4pm. We took advantage of this opportunity and made a dinner reservation at Be Our Guest before the party started.  I’m going to post dining reviews separately, but *spoiler alert* it was delicious!  Because our meal overlapped the party, a special MNSSHP event exclusive dessert was offered – a chocolate, blood orange cream puff, complete with chocolate spider web decoration!  We really enjoyed our meal, but I did feel somewhat rushed (internally, our server was great) so that we could get out and see everything the party had to offer.
2015-09-22 20.13.48       After we ate, we rode several rides including Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh with minimal waits. The only ride line that was prohibitively long was Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which peaked at 45 minutes. Haunted Mansion also had a fairly long line, but the queue included some Halloween surprises and entertainment exclusive to the party that make the wait feel shorter.  We loved the HalloWishes fireworks show, but unfortunately missed the Boo to You Parade! There was so much to see that we didn’t get to do everything. I can’t wait to experience it again to see some of what we missed!

Never Grow Up!
